Is God Enough?

IS KNOWING GOD ENOUGH? Would you, could you, be satisfied with simply knowing Him? What if you worked the cash register at a fast food restaurant for the rest of your days? Would you be content with that job and simply knowing the Lord? What if not one of your dreams or desires you have had for yourself all these years came to be? Would simply knowing God be enough? Are you still waiting for that “thing” that “person” that “circumstance” to change so that you will finally feel content? Or, are you content with the simple knowledge that Christ as redeemed you? What if your spouse never changes, your children don’t come back, your health continues to decline, there is a foreclose on your house, you lose your job, or you...

Beautiful

In the book of Acts, chapter three, Luke describes a man, who for over forty years, has been crippled. Daily, he is carried to the temple gate that is called Beautiful.  Beautiful in the Greek is horaios which means: belonging to the right hour or season, flourishing, beauteous – beautiful. That man would have been sitting there when Jesus had walked past the gate.  Jesus could have spoken one word and the man would have been healed. Yet, Jesus did not heal him.  It wasn’t time yet.  It wasn’t the right season. It wasn’t until that afternoon, that is described in the third chapter of Acts, when Peter and John were going to the temple to pray – when this man’s life forever changed. Forty years. Forty years of sitting, being carried, longing...

Six Hours

Taking you back in time to listen to a song I wrote many years ago about the six hours on the cross. It is  hard to wrap my brain around the fact that Christ was willing to become what I am, so that I can become what he is – free from sin – by the way of his atoning sacrifice. While I was still wearing the filthy rags of rebellion toward God – He called me to Him. A perfect Lamb, it was perfect love that was thinking of me when He spread out His arms wide and died for me. The lyrics are posted below the song link/ click below to hear the song 06 Six Hours (written, recorded by J. McClain copyright 2000) What I am is a child of grace, what I am is free from sin What I am is guilty for your hours of agony Chorus: Six hours of agony, six hours in...

And God Saw That it Was Good

And God Saw That it Was Good

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.” So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:20-21. Look around…see the magnificent creation that God SPOKE into being. How glorious, how miraculous is His creativity throughout the earth. What delight He must have in seeing the work of HIS hands! If He can speak into being humpback whales, sea turtles that migrate for thousands of miles, gorgeous and amazing birds….imagine His love for you…his most wondrous creation! You are worth more to...
