I Will Not Stop

I witness and hear a lot about wounds of the heart from the women who contact me.  While situations vary, some are direct consequences from sin, some have very complex backgrounds and others are just a devastating loss. No matter how they got there – they are there – in the midst of incredible heartache, struggling with despair and hopelessness. It’s easy to feel swallowed up with the sorrow of aching souls, but rather than being overwhelmed, I’d rather choose to reach out to those the Lord brings our way. I’d rather spend my time encouraging and pointing to Him…because all else will fail the already faint heart.

That is why I will not stop proclaiming the hope that you have in Christ. I will not put away my soap box and stop telling you that God is able and desires to clean up your mess.

Last night and into today, I have been set on one thing: prayer. Prayer that God would cause eyes to see Him, prayers that God would give ears to those who need to receive His message of love. Prayer that YOU would allow him to take reign over your life – the life that really doesn’t make much sense right now. Sometimes, there are no words, no blogs, no books, no catch-phrases, goals or motives that can lift our eyes…that’s why I suggest that you too, pray right along with me…maybe you are one of those sitting in that place where you just don’t know how you got here, but the reality is…you are…in need of your heart being dipped in the life-giving streams of the living God.

Lord, I want to dip my heart into your living water.

I want to bring my wounds, my questions, my fears, my aches and lay them down at your feet. My parched heart is in need of your well-spring of life. This world is hard, life is hard, people disappoint and people struggle. But You, Oh God, You are abounding in love, you can cause my sorrows to melt away. You can give me a peace that passes all understanding. I need that now, Father, I need your healing, comforting love. I do not need to understand why I am here, Father, when I know that You have everything under control. I can be confident that You are with me, You will never leave me. Father, reveal yourself to those who have ears but do not hear, eyes, but do not see. Reveal yourself to me, Father, for I desperately need my heart to be filled, even if just a dip…with your living water.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Psalm 42:1-2

Keep praying dear one, keep hoping, keep trusting God to work in your lives and marriages!

May friendship, encouragement and grace abound!
